Newsec acted as seller’s advisor in the real estate transaction of the rehabilitation hospital Jalmari in Lahti

The City of Lahti and the Swiss investment company Swiss Life Asset Managers Transactions AS have made a real estate transaction for the sale of rehabilitation hospital Jalmari located in Lahti's Jalkaranta including leasehold for the property's plot. The purchase price is EUR 35.7 million, and ownership was transferred to the investment company on May 31, 2023.

"We are satisfied with the completion of the transaction. The city no longer needs health care properties for its own operations. The sale has no impact on the wellbeing services county’s use of the facilities", commented Lahti City Manager Pekka Timonen.

Newsec acted as the seller's commercial advisor.

"The interest shown in the rehabilitation hospital Jalmari was extensive and showed how the community real estate class is still attractive to investors. The project progressed smoothly, thanks to both sides of the deal. We congratulate the city of Lahti for a good deal and Swisslife for acquiring a great property", says Markku Turunen, Regional Director, Commercial Brokerage, Newsec.
